To the beach…!

Sunday 22nd April will be a critical day for rallying in the UK with the first ever closed road rally taking place in England, the Corbeau Seats Tendering & Clacton rally. Warwick based Matthew Jackson will be taking the trip to the East coast to sample the closed road tarmac stages that Essex has to offer. Having been predominantly gravel based over the recent years, Matthew is relishing the challenge to return to tarmac to test his skills against some of the more regular sealed surface competitors.

‘I am looking forward to the event. Firstly we are excited to support such an event with it being a turning point for Motorsport in the UK as well as looking forward to making a switch to tarmac! It’s been a busy few weeks with some long evenings converting the car into tarmac specification but I feel we are now ready and counting down the days!’.

Matthew will once again be piloting the 1400cc Nissan Micra with Ammanford’s Claire Williams alongside. Seeded at car 81, the pairing are targeting a solid event to gain experience of the tarmac roads and relish the opportunity of getting back out on the stages.

The event itself will be based on the sea front in Clacton-on-Sea. The event will run on Sunday 22nd April with 45 competitive stage miles around the roads of the seaside town. For more information on the event, visit: http://corbeauseatsrally.co.uk/.
