Jackson returns to R2
The Rallynuts stages on 13th April will see Warwickshire’s Matthew Jackson return to the forests behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R2. The car itself will be prepared and run by the current British Rally Champion, Matt Edwards (MERallysport). After Matthew’s successful debut in an R2 specification car on a one off event during 2018, both Matt’s have joined forces to pull together the deal for the Rallynuts stages.
‘I am really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the Fiesta. We had a positive run on the Woodpecker in September 2018 albeit ending with mechanical troubles, however I am eager to further my experience in such a car on this event’
Matthew will be navigated for the first time by Rhys Stoneman, a young, up and coming co-driver from South Wales. The pairing head to the event with the aim of gaining that all important experience and mileage under their belt whilst testing the new partnership.
The event is based out of Builth Wells with 45 competitive stage miles around the unique and challenging welsh forestry. Matthew & Rhys are entered in a field of strong competitors with 11 other R2 cars in their class, the perfect set up for an exciting days motorsport.
